South Los Angeles Beverage Company is a is a Black-owned craft beverage incubator, production, and packaging facility coming to South Central Los Angeles in 2021.
This Qualified Opportunity Zone Business (QOZB) will be a social enterprise that employs and empowers South Central residents overcoming barriers to work. We believe that we must be the change we seek in the world. Our Pending B Corp status demonstrates our commitment to “putting our money where our mouth is” by having the independent organization, B Lab, audit our business practices to ensure that we remain focussed on reducing inequality, lowering levels of poverty, building a stronger community, constructing a healthier environment and creating high-quality jobs with dignity and purpose.
We are a fair-chance employer, partnering with local nonprofits and government workforce programs to create jobs for residents and community members who face barriers to employment so they can develop the skills and confidence they need to build stable and meaningful careers.
For decades, businesses located in South Central have been at a disadvantage in accessing capital, due to decades of disinvestment resulting from racial discrimination and structural inequities. We hope to leverage this location’s access to a plethora of incentive programs (Opportunity Zone, HUBZone, Enterprise Zone & EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program) to bring about radically inclusive economic advancement for the community at-large.
